Electrify the Capital
Electrify the Capital is Wellington’s major public electrification expo, bringing together businesses, organisations and experts to help people discover the opportunities and benefits of going electric. We are targeting more than 3,000 visitors through the doors of TSB Arena on Saturday 17 October, giving exhibitors the opportunity to engage directly with a large and diverse public audience interested in electric vehicles, home energy, solar and batteries, efficient heating and hot water, smart technology, and other electrification solutions.
Building on a successful Expo
Electrify the Capital builds on the highly successful Electrify the Hutt Expo, held at the Lower Hutt Town Hall on 4 October 2025. That first, much smaller event attracted 1,266 visitors and demonstrated the strong public appetite for practical information about electrification.
The Town Hall was busy throughout the day, with visitors exploring electric appliances, solar and battery systems, EVs and charging, e-bikes, heating and hot-water solutions and other technologies. A programme of expert seminars attracted strong audiences, while the exhibition floor and “Ask Me Anything” area gave visitors the opportunity to have one-to-one conversations with suppliers, installers and people with practical experience of electrification.
Importantly for exhibitors, the post-event survey showed that visitors came looking for practical information and solutions. 40% of survey respondents identified speaking with experts as one of the most valuable aspects of the Expo, while 31% specifically valued meeting local installers and suppliers. Solar and battery information was particularly popular, followed by hot-water heat pumps, home heating, EVs and charging, e-bikes and electric appliances.
The Expo also generated a strong intention to act. Almost 80% of survey respondents said they were ready to take some form of electrification action within the following six months. Among the actions visitors were considering were obtaining quotes or installing solar, installing heat pumps, researching finance, adding battery storage and installing EV charging. These results were confirmed by a follow-up survey after six months that the proposed actions had been undertaken.
Electrify the Capital takes this successful formula to a much larger stage. With TSB Arena providing substantially more exhibition space and a central Wellington location, we are targeting 3,000+ visitors and bringing together a much wider range of exhibitors, activities, talks and opportunities for visitors to explore electrification.

Need more space?
Our Intermediate and Jumbo booths are now sold out, reflecting the strong exhibitor interest in this year’s Expo. However, if you need more space than a single Standard or Standard Plus booth provides, talk to us about taking two adjoining Standard booths. Subject to the remaining floor-plan availability, we may be able to create a larger combined exhibition area to suit your display.
If you have particular requirements—for example, large equipment or an interactive installation—please discuss these with the Expo team before booking so we can identify the most suitable available space.
Promoting our exhibitors
Your involvement starts before the doors open. Participating exhibitors will be promoted through the Electrify the Capital website and our social media channels in the lead-up to the event, helping visitors discover who will be at the Expo and encouraging them to seek out exhibitors relevant to their interests.
On the day, the Expo will be open to the public from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Exhibitors are expected to have their stands staffed throughout these hours so visitors have the opportunity to talk directly with knowledgeable representatives, ask questions and learn more about the products and services on display.
There will be prizes available to people who have pre-registered to attend via the Humanitix website
Prizes, giveaways and special offers
We want the Expo to be an engaging and rewarding day for visitors, and prizes, giveaways and special Expo offers will form part of the experience. These may include prizes available through Expo-wide promotions as well as competitions, giveaways, demonstrations or special offers run by individual exhibitors at their stands.
We encourage exhibitors to consider whether they can contribute a prize, product, voucher or other incentive that can be included in Expo promotions, or offer something special to visitors on the day. This provides another opportunity to showcase your organisation and can help attract visitors to your stand. Where appropriate, exhibitor-supplied prizes may also be promoted through the Expo website and social media in the lead-up to the event. Exhibitors planning a prize, giveaway, competition or special Expo offer are encouraged to let the organising team know in advance so we can coordinate promotion and make the most of it.
Friday pack-in and exhibitor function
TSB Arena will be available for exhibitor pack-in from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Friday 16 October. We encourage exhibitors to allow plenty of time to complete their setup so that everything is ready for Saturday morning.
Once pack-in has finished, exhibitors are invited to join us for a closed social function in the exhibition hall from 5:00pm on Friday. This is an opportunity to relax after setup, meet the Expo organising team and network informally with fellow exhibitors before the public event begins.
Saturday access and pack-out
On Saturday 17 October, exhibitor staff will be able to enter TSB Arena from 8:30am, giving you 30 minutes for final preparations before the doors open to the public at 9:00am.
The Expo closes to the public at 4:00pm, after which exhibitors can begin packing down their stands. We ask that stands remain fully operational until the Expo closes and that all exhibitor displays, equipment and materials are removed from TSB Arena by 7:00pm.
